We know people down in Puerto Rico have been wanting their own state for eternity. Many people rural residents in large democratic states such as Illinois feel often overwhelmed and overshadowed by mega cities. And after trying everything in the legal books, they have come to the only sensible conclusion of divorce. Yes you heard it right. We are not talking about divorcing your wife, although I am sure many of you would like to do that, but rather illinois divorcing Chicago. There is currently a resolution in our state calling on congress to declare our city the 51st state and it has eight Republican sponsors. Apparently down there in illinois they are not happy about our stance on guns, immigration, debt and pensions among many others. Several polls have found huge regional differences which does not come as a surprise to us. For all of those who do not know our state has been mired in debt and many fiscal problems for years, and everyone blames Chicago for it. Well what the hell we say go for it Carbondale or whoever you are. lol. We will just continue on our ways spending money on the many pleasures this city has to offer. La Dolce vita!
